March is Birth Psychology Month
According to the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health, which will henceforth be referred to exclusively as “APPPAH” in this article, March is Birth Psychology Month!
Happy Birth Psychology Month Everyone!
APPPAH is on a mission to educate professionals and members of the public on the philosophy that a baby’s experience of conception, pregnancy, and birth creates lifelong consequences for individuals, families, and society.
“As a result of scientific discoveries and continually emerging evidence, we know babies are conscious and sentient beings.” – APPPAH website.
The APPPAH was founded by Dr. Thomas R. Verny an MD with a special interest in psychology. The organization offers educational programs that seek to improve human health from the very start.
There will be several events that interested people can participate in during the month of March including a free Teleconference on Birth Psychology: The What, The Why, The How, with Dennis Hertenstein, APPPAH’s Vice President and a Voices of APPPAH interview with Raylene Phillips, Ph.D., on APPPAH’s YouTube Channel.
